Gibberellic Acid Enhances the Germination and Growth of Maize under Salinity Stress

Soil salinity is the major limiting factor restricting plant growth and development. Little known about comparative combined effects of gibberellic acid (GA3) seed priming foliar application on maize under salt stress. The current study determined impact different concentrations GA3 morpho-physiological photosynthetic attributes seedlings stress treatments (no severe salinity-15 dSm-1). consisted 1mM, 2mM, 3mM, 4mM 5mM exogenous in condition. Salt particularly at 15 dSm-1 reduced length shoots roots, fresh dry weights, chlorophyll, lycopene, beta-carotine carotenoid contents plants. Nevertheless, improved Compared with salt, 2mM treatment (T4) recorded highest increase roots length, chlorophyll content compared to other concentrations. These results indicated that could be used as an effective tool for improving development contaminated soils.
